Job Description
The Pediatric Dental Hygienist is responsible for delivering high-quality preventive dental care and patient education to children and adolescents in a supportive, patient-centered environment. This role focuses on promoting lifelong oral health through clinical excellence, compassionate communication, and teamwork.
Key Responsibilities
Perform dental prophylaxis, fluoride treatments, sealants, and periodontal assessments in accordance with North Carolina regulations
Obtain and review medical and dental histories; update patient records accurately and timely
Take diagnostic radiographs in compliance with state guidelines
Educate patients and parents on oral hygiene, nutrition, and preventive care strategies
Assist in behavior guidance to ensure a positive experience for pediatric patients
Identify and communicate treatment needs to the dentist
Maintain infection control protocols in alignment with OSHA and CDC standards
Ensure operatory cleanliness, organization, and readiness for patient care
Collaborate effectively with dentists, assistants, and front office team members
Support office goals related to patient satisfaction, efficiency, and clinical quality
Qualifications
Active North Carolina Dental Hygienist license in good standing
Current CPR certification
Certification in dental radiography in compliance with NC regulations
Experience in pediatric dentistry preferred; new graduates with strong interpersonal skills considered
Skills and Competencies

Pay: $48.00 - $55.00 per hour
