Responsibilities
Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup.
Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, vital signs, and current dental conditions.
Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays), ensuring high-quality imaging for accurate diagnosis.
Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions to promote lifelong dental health.
Assist with chairside procedures in general dentistry, including four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency.
Maintain accurate and detailed medical records using electronic health records (EHR) systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix, ensuring HIPAA compliance and confidentiality.
Follow infection prevention protocols, including aseptic techniques and infection control measures, to safeguard patient and staff safety.
Skills
Proficiency in dental software platforms like Eaglesoft for documentation and scheduling.
Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and medical terminology relevant to dentistry.
Expertise in dental equipment operation, dental x-ray procedures, and medical imaging techniques.
Excellent client communication skills to effectively educate patients about their dental care needs.
Ability to perform patient care tasks such as vital signs measurement, patient assessment, and maintaining patient comfort throughout procedures.
Knowledge of healthcare infection prevention and control standards, including HIPAA compliance management and maintaining patient confidentiality.
