Job Summary
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Registered Dental Hygienist to join our vibrant dental team. In this role, you will play a vital part in delivering exceptional patient care by providing thorough dental cleanings, patient education, and assisting with various clinical procedures. Your expertise will help promote optimal oral health, ensure patient comfort, and uphold the highest standards of infection control and confidentiality. Responsibilities
Perform dental prophylaxis, including cleaning teeth, removing plaque and calculus, and applying fluoride treatments to promote oral health.
Conduct comprehensive patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, vital signs, and current dental conditions.
Assist dentists during various procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques to ensure efficiency and patient comfort.
Take and develop dental radiographs (x-rays), ensuring proper positioning and safety protocols are followed.
Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions to foster long-term dental health.
Maintain accurate electronic health records (EHR) using systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix while reviewing documentation for accuracy.
Follow strict infection prevention protocols, including aseptic techniques and sterilization of dental equipment, in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
Monitor patient safety by recording vital signs, assessing medical conditions, and recognizing signs requiring immediate attention.
Support the dental team with chairside assisting, including preparing materials, handling dental instruments, and managing medical imaging procedures.
Ensure compliance with all healthcare regulations related to medical records management, HIPAA confidentiality standards, and infection control practices.
Experience
Valid state licensure as a Registered Dental Hygienist with current certification to perform dental cleanings and radiography.
Proven experience working in general dentistry or pediatric dentistry settings with a strong understanding of dental terminology and procedures.
Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix is highly preferred.
Demonstrated knowledge of infection prevention management, aseptic techniques, and healthcare infection control standards.
Experience providing patient education on dental care best practices tailored for diverse age groups including pediatrics.
Ability to perform dental x-ray procedures accurately while maintaining patient safety standards.
Strong communication skills for client interaction, documentation review, and collaboration within a multidisciplinary team.
