Job Overview
Looking for our Chief Hygiene Officer! We are a young and hungry office looking for somebody who can help us immediately 1-2 days per week, with the potential to become full-time (4 days/week) if desired. We are affiliated with Central Virginia Dental Care (CVDC), so a full-time position would come with additional benefits, such as 401k and health insurance options. We're a team of friendly, dynamic, self-starters looking for like-minded individuals who are interested in growing our practice from the ground up.
Duties
Perform dental cleanings, from basic prophy to SRP on patients of all ages. Ability to administer local anesthetic preferred, but not required.
Conduct patient assessments by taking vital signs, medical histories, and reviewing medical records to ensure safe treatment planning.
Taking radiographs using digital sensors, applying sealants and fluoride treatments.
Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, including brushing, flossing, and dietary advice for optimal dental health.
Maintain strict infection control protocols using aseptic techniques to ensure a safe environment for patients and staff.
Document all treatment notes and patient interactions accurately in an electronic medical record.
Assist with daily/weekly/monthly chores and maintenance, including inventory of hygiene supplies.
Chart a course for our hygiene program for years to come!
Requirements
Valid state licensure as a Registered Dental Hygienist with current credentials to practice legally
Proven experience in general dentistry and dental office settings preferred, but not required
Proficiency with Eaglesoft preferred, but no required
Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control standards, and HIPAA regulations to ensure compliance and patient confidentiality
Excellent patient care skills with the ability to assess patient needs effectively and communicate clearly
Knowledge of medical terminology, vital signs measurement, and medical records management for comprehensive patient care
Familiarity with coding practices related to dental procedures for accurate billing and documentation
