Duties
Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling, polishing, and fluoride treatments to promote oral health.
Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, vital signs, and current dental conditions.
Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) using dental imaging equipment while ensuring radiation safety protocols.
Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions to enhance their understanding of dental health.
Assist the dentist during procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques to improve workflow efficiency.
Maintain accurate and detailed medical records and documentation within electronic health records (EHR) systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix.
Adhere strictly to infection prevention management protocols, including aseptic techniques and infection control standards aligned with HIPAA regulations.
Skills
Proficiency in dental software systems like Eaglesoft and Dentrix for scheduling, documentation review, and record management.
Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and general dentistry procedures.
Ability to operate dental equipment safely and effectively, including X-ray machines and other clinical tools.
Excellent patient communication skills with a focus on client education about dental care and treatment plans.
Familiarity with EMR/EHR management for accurate documentation of patient interactions and treatment history.
