Job Description
Join Our Awesome Periodontal Team as a Part-time Dental Hygienist!
We are a private practice located in Southwest Austin dedicated to delivering exceptional periodontal and dental implant care. Our commitment to ethical, patient-centered, and compassionate care is complemented by state-of-the-art technology and an excellent overall patient experience. As we continue to grow, we are excited to offer a part-time opportunity for a skilled and passionate Dental Hygienist to join our dedicated team.
In our modern office overlooking the hills, you can expect a supportive, relaxed environment—not a high-pressure general practice. In fact, many hygienists find that working in our periodontal office is less stressful and more professionally rewarding. Our patients are typically seen for ongoing periodontal maintenance, and you’ll have ample time to work with them one-on-one, providing high-quality care and education without the typical rush.
This role is ideal for a hygienist who enjoys forming long-term patient relationships, values precision in data collection, and is eager to grow their knowledge of periodontics, soft tissue therapy, and implants. You’ll become confident in identifying periodontal issues and discussing treatment options with patients, but don’t worry—we offer training and mentoring to help you grow into that.
You’ll be responsible for periodontal treatment and patient education, including oral hygiene techniques and the use of appropriate hygiene aids. Experience with periodontal disease conditions, probing techniques, and charting is important, and you’ll assist with collecting data during comprehensive periodontal exams.
We prefer candidates with at least three years of hygiene experience, but attitude, personality, and a strong work ethic matter just as much. Experience with digital radiography and scaling/root planing is required. Knowledge of Dentrix Ascend is a plus, but not required. CPR certification is required, and we encourage hygienists who are certified in nitrous oxide monitoring and local anesthesia.
The majority of our hygiene care involves periodontal maintenance and collaboration with the doctor on patient exams. Most new patients receive minimally invasive LANAP surgery using our Periolase, followed by routine supportive care.
We value our team and offer perks including an HSA with employer contributions, free parking, breakroom snacks and coffee, and occasional team outings. Additional benefits are available if the position evolves into full-time.
Starting pay is $60-65/hour - flexibility for candidates with extensive experience. As our practice grows, so will your opportunity for expanded hours. If you're a dependable, caring, and professional hygienist looking to advance your career in a calm, tech-forward, and highly supportive environment—we'd love to meet you!
