Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Registered Dental Hygienist to join our dynamic dental team. Responsibilities
Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup.
Take dental radiographs (X-rays), ensuring proper technique and patient safety.
Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, vital signs, and current oral health status.
Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions.
Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques for efficiency.
Maintain accurate and detailed electronic health records (EHR/EMR systems) such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix, documenting treatments, diagnoses, and patient interactions.
Follow infection prevention protocols, including aseptic techniques and sterilization of dental equipment to ensure a safe environment for all.
Monitor patient comfort throughout procedures, providing chairside assistance as needed with dental equipment and supplies.
Uphold HIPAA compliance by maintaining patient confidentiality and managing medical records securely.
Support the overall operation of the dental practice by managing appointment schedules and ensuring smooth patient flow.
Experience
Valid state licensure as a Registered Dental Hygienist with current credentials.
Proven experience in general dentistry with a focus on pediatric dentistry preferred; familiarity with pediatric-specific procedures is a plus.
Hands-on experience with dental software such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix for charting, documentation review, and medical coding.
Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, medical terminology, and infection control standards.
Experience performing dental x-rays (dental imaging) with attention to safety protocols.
Skilled in patient care techniques including patient assessment, education, and communication tailored to diverse age groups—especially pediatrics.
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment utilizing four-handed dentistry practices for optimal patient care delivery.
Knowledge of healthcare infection prevention and control practices aligned with OSHA standards.
