Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Dental Hygienist to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in dental hygiene, with expertise in patient education, periodontal therapy, and maintaining clinical excellence. As a key member of our dental team, you will deliver high-quality preventive care, assist with patient assessments, and support overall clinic operations to ensure an exceptional patient experience.
Duties
Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to promote optimal periodontal health.
Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, vital signs, and dental charts to develop personalized treatment plans.
Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and preventive measures to improve their overall dental health.
Assist dentists during procedures such as examinations, restorations, and surgical interventions using four-handed dentistry techniques.
Take and develop medical imaging such as digital X-rays while adhering to infection control protocols and aseptic techniques.
Review and document patient records accurately within electronic medical record (EMR) systems (Carestack).
Insure compliance with HIPAA regulations by safeguarding patient confidentiality at all times.
Maintain sterilization standards and infection control procedures to uphold safety and quality standards in the clinic.
Skills
Proficiency in dental software systems (Carestack) for scheduling, documentation review, and record management.
Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and medical terminology relevant to dentistry and pediatrics.
Experience with pediatric dentistry practices including pediatric patient care and behavior management.
Ability to perform chairside assisting efficiently while maintaining excellent patient rapport.
Familiarity with infection control protocols, aseptic technique, and sterilization procedures within a dental setting.
Knowledge of medical coding for billing purposes related to dental procedures and treatments.
Excellent communication skills for effective patient education and team collaboration.
Prior experience in general dentistry or pediatric dentistry environments is highly desirable.
