Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Dental Hygienist to join our dynamic dental team. As a key member of our practice, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive oral health services, educating patients on proper dental hygiene practices, and supporting the overall efficiency of the dental office. Responsibilities
Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup.
Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, vital signs, and current dental conditions.
Assist with chairside procedures in general dentistry and pediatric dentistry settings, ensuring patient comfort and safety.
Take and develop medical imaging such as X-rays while adhering to all radiation safety guidelines.
Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and preventive care strategies tailored to individual needs.
Maintain accurate documentation of patient records, treatment plans, and medical histories in electronic medical record (EMR) systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix.
Follow infection control protocols using aseptic techniques to prevent cross-contamination in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
Support the dental team with administrative duties such as reviewing documentation for accuracy and assisting with medical coding when necessary.
Ensure the dental operatory is prepared with sterile instruments and supplies, maintaining a clean and organized environment at all times.
Skills
Proficiency in using EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix for documentation and record management.
Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and medical terminology relevant to dental care.
Experience with pediatric dentistry procedures and working effectively with children in a clinical setting.
Expertise in four-handed dentistry techniques to optimize efficiency during patient care.
Ability to accurately measure vital signs including blood pressure, pulse, respiration rate, and temperature.
Familiarity with infection control standards, aseptic techniques, and sterilization procedures within a dental clinic environment.
Excellent patient care skills with a compassionate approach to diverse patient populations.
Knowledge of medical records management, documentation review, and medical coding processes for billing purposes.
Effective communication skills for educating patients about oral health while maintaining professionalism across all interactions.
