Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Hygienist to join our growing dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care, performing dental cleanings, and assisting in various dental procedures. This role requires a strong understanding of dental terminology, infection control practices, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Experience with pediatric dentistry and familiarity with dental software such as Dentrix is highly desirable.
Responsibilities
Conduct thorough patient assessments and medical history reviews to ensure comprehensive care.
Perform dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing teeth, while adhering to aseptic techniques.
Take and interpret medical imaging, including X-rays, to assist in diagnosis and treatment planning.
Provide chairside assistance during dental procedures, ensuring a smooth workflow for the dentist.
Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and the importance of regular dental visits.
Maintain accurate medical records and documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
Monitor vital signs as necessary during patient visits.
Collaborate with the dental team to enhance patient care and improve clinic operations.
Stay updated on advancements in dental hygiene practices and participate in ongoing professional development.
Requirements
Valid state license to practice as a Dental Hygienist.
Proficiency in using EMR systems such as Dentrix is preferred.
Knowledge of general dentistry, pediatric dentistry, and four-handed dentistry techniques.
Familiarity with dental terminology, medical terminology, infection control protocols, and anatomy knowledge.
Previous experience in a dental office or clinic setting is highly advantageous.
Strong skills in patient care, assessment, documentation review, and medical coding.
Ability to work effectively as part of a team while maintaining a positive attitude towards patient interactions.
