Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Hygienist to join our team with the possibility of advancement to full time in the near future. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care, performing dental assessments, and assisting in various dental procedures. This role requires a strong understanding of dental terminology, infection control, and patient management to ensure a comfortable experience for our patients.
Duties
Conduct thorough patient assessments and document findings in electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
Perform dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing teeth, while adhering to aseptic techniques.
Assist dentists during procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency and patient comfort.
Take and develop medical imaging, including X-rays, while ensuring compliance with safety protocols.
Monitor vital signs and maintain accurate medical records for each patient visit.
Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and the importance of regular dental care.
Maintain knowledge of pediatric dentistry practices to effectively treat younger patients.
Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintain confidentiality of patient information.
Collaborate with the dental team to provide exceptional patient care in both general and pediatric dentistry settings.
Requirements
Proven experience in a dental office or clinic environment is preferred.
Familiarity with Open Dental and Tab32 software is advantageous.
Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and infection control practices.
Ability to perform chairside assisting duties effectively during various dental procedures.
Experience with documentation review, medical coding, and maintaining accurate medical records is beneficial.
Excellent communication skills with a focus on patient care and education.
Understanding of vital signs monitoring and basic medical terminology is essential.
