Job Overview
NEED A REGISTERED DENTAL HYGIENIST FOR WEDNESDAYS ONLY IN OUR MIDTOWN LOCATION
Join our dynamic dental team as a Dental Hygienist and become a vital part of delivering exceptional patient care! In this energetic role, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive dental hygiene services, assisting with patient assessments, and supporting general dentistry procedures. Your expertise will help promote oral health, ensure infection control standards are met, and enhance the overall patient experience. Responsibilities
Perform dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup
Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, vital signs, and current dental conditions
Assist the dentist during procedures with chairside support, ensuring smooth workflow through four-handed dentistry techniques
Take and develop medical imaging such as X-rays on Dentrix Imaging while adhering to aseptic techniques and infection control protocols
Educate patients on oral hygiene practices, treatment plans, and preventive care strategies
Maintain accurate and thorough documentation of patient records, treatment notes, and medical histories in electronic health record (EHR) system Dentrix
Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations by safeguarding patient confidentiality and managing medical records securely
Skills
Proficiency in dental office management software Dentrix
Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and infection control procedures
Experience with pediatric dentistry and providing care tailored to children’s needs
Skilled in chairside assisting, including handling dental instruments and maintaining aseptic technique
Ability to assess vital signs accurately and interpret medical imaging results
Familiarity with medical terminology, documentation review, and medical coding for billing purposes
Excellent patient care skills with a compassionate approach to diverse patient populations
Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure privacy and security of medical records
Prior experience in general dentistry or pediatric dentistry environments is highly desirable
