Job Overview
The Registered Dental Hygienist role at Welker Dental is a part-time, on-site position located in St Louis, MO. Daily responsibilities include performing dental prophylaxis procedures, periodontal assessments, and other preventive hygiene services in accordance with clinical guidelines. The role involves educating patients on oral hygiene practices, periodontal disease prevention, and overall dental care, while documenting findings and treatments accurately in patient records. The hygienist will collaborate with dentists and other team members to develop and implement individualized care plans, assist with patient flow, and help maintain a clean, compliant, and safe clinical environment. This position requires consistent attention to infection control protocols, professional chairside manner, and effective communication with patients of diverse backgrounds.
Responsibilities
Strong clinical skills in Dentistry and Dental Care, with the ability to support comprehensive treatment plans.
Proficiency in Hygiene procedures, including Dental Prophylaxis, and familiarity with current best practices.
Knowledge of Periodontal Disease, including assessment, prevention, and patient education strategies.
Active Registered Dental Hygienist (RDH) license in the state of Missouri.
Commitment to infection control standards and patient safety.
Effective interpersonal and communication skills, with a patient-centered approach.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and manage time efficiently in a clinical setting.
Experience in private practice dentistry or similar clinical environment preferred.
Work office Clinical hours of Monday 11am-5pm, Tuesday-Thursday 7am-3pm.
Qualifications
Valid state licensure as a Registered Dental Hygienist with current certification to practice.
Proven experience in general dentistry or pediatric dentistry environments is highly preferred.
Proficiency with dental software such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix for charting, documentation review, and EMR/EHR management.
Strong knowledge of dental terminology, medical terminology, and anatomy relevant to oral health care.
Expertise in infection control practices, including healthcare infection prevention standards and aseptic technique.
Ability to perform dental x-ray procedures accurately while adhering to safety guidelines.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to educate patients effectively about dental care patient education strategies.
Familiarity with pediatric dentistry principles if working with children or adolescents is a plus.
Knowledge of HIPAA regulations for maintaining patient confidentiality and safeguarding medical records.
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while demonstrating professionalism and attention to detail.
