Job Description
Mauldin Family Dentistry is looking for a part-time or full-time Registered Dental Hygienist to work 2-4 days Monday through Thursday. We have been in practice in Mauldin for over 40 years. Our patients are loyal and deserving of great service. Unfortunately for us, one of our hygienists is moving to California. We are looking for someone kind and responsible who likes building trust and friendships with their patients to take her place. There are a lot of dental offices looking for potential hires right now, but I want to share some info about our office that sets us apart:
We are a privately-owned office with one doctor, Dr. Daniel Halasz; a manager who cares about you personally and is willing to negotiate salary and benefits and is very understanding of family and personal time.
We rarely have turnover. In the last 20 years, we’ve had a few short-timers, but most of our hygienists have worked more than 20 years and have retired out.
We are an “out of network” practice, and have the freedom to practice dentistry through ethical standards and not to meet a production goal.
We give our hygienists at least an hour to work on all adult prophies, and are understanding when more time is needed. We do not rush your time, or our patient's time, just to meet a production goal.
Dr. Halasz is very easy-going and a pleasure to work for. He also understands the need for personal time and can be flexible when time is needed. In addition, the rest of your coworkers are dedicated to the practice’s success, and each other’s.

Duties
Perform comprehensive dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup.
Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) using Scan-X technology, ensuring accuracy and patient safety.
Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions to foster lifelong healthy habits.
Ensure strict adherence to infection control standards, including sterilization of dental equipment and maintaining a safe clinical environment in accordance with healthcare infection prevention guidelines.
Qualifications
Valid state licensure as a Registered Dental Hygienist with current credentials to practice legally.
Proven experience in general family dentistry preferred, but not required.
Proficiency with dental software such as Eaglesoft for charting, scheduling, and documentation management is preferred, but not required.
Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and dental equipment operation.
Skilled in patient communication with the ability to educate effectively on dental care practices tailored to diverse age groups.
Expertise in chairside assisting techniques, X-ray procedures, and maintaining infection control standards using aseptic techniques.
Ability to review documentation accurately, perform medical assessments including vital signs, and understand dental coding processes.
Commitment to HIPAA compliance and maintaining patient confidentiality at all times.
