Job Description
Avalon Dental is an independent, family-owned dental practice in San Ramon. We value long-term patient relationships and want every patient to feel comfortable, genuinely cared for, and confident that they are in good hands.
We are looking for a registered dental hygienist who is equally strong clinically and socially—someone who provides thorough, high-quality care while connecting naturally with patients. The ideal candidate is warm, engaging, positive, dependable, and works well as part of a close-knit team.

Thorough and accurate periodontal charting and clinical documentation
Strong patient-education and communication skills

Responsibilities
Perform prophylaxis, periodontal maintenance, scaling and root planing, and other preventive hygiene services
Complete accurate periodontal assessments and six-point periodontal charting
Take diagnostic digital radiographs when indicated and intraoral photos
Recognize and clearly communicate periodontal findings to the dentist and patient
Educate patients about oral health, home care, and recommended treatment
Administer local anesthesia within the hygienist’s licensed scope when needed
Maintain complete and accurate clinical notes
Follow infection-control and sterilization protocols
Collaborate with the dentist and team to provide a smooth, welcoming patient experience
Qualifications
Active California Registered Dental Hygienist license
Current CPR/BLS certification
Strong interpersonal and clinical skills
Dentrix and Dexis experience is helpful but not required
Recent graduates are encouraged to apply
We are happy to support and mentor the right recent graduate. Selected candidates may be invited to complete a fully paid trial shift. There may also be opportunities for additional days as the practice grows.
