Job Overview
EJL Dental, a multispecialty dental practice in Rockville, Maryland, is expanding, and seeking a compassionate, reliable, and energetic Registered Dental Hygienist to join their pediatric department.
The position is part-time, offering competitive and negotiable pay, including free dental treatment (self, spouse and dependents), PTO, free parking, holiday and bonus pay.
Candidates must exhibit exceptional patient care while promoting optimal oral health. In this energetic and rewarding position, you will utilize your expertise to perform thorough dental cleaning, patient education, and assessments while ensuring a comfortable and positive experience for every patient. Primary Responsibilities
Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and treatment options
Occasionally apply sealants or fluoride treatments when needed
Operate dental equipment and X-ray machines safely while adhering to infection prevention protocols
Maintain accurate and detailed medical records using electronic health records (EHR)
Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations by always maintaining patient confidentiality
Desired Skills
Proficiency in Open Dental or other EHR/Electronic Medical Records management systems
Strong knowledge of dental terminology
Experience with pediatric dentistry and providing care tailored for children
Skilled in four-handed dentistry techniques to optimize efficiency during procedures
Ability to perform dental x-rays
Excellent patient care skills with a focus on client communication and education
Knowledge of healthcare/dental infection control standards
Familiarity with dental equipment operation, maintenance, and sterilization procedures
Understanding of HIPAA compliance management and dental coding
Ability to assess patient needs effectively through medical record/documentation review
Strong teamwork skills in a fast-paced environment
