Job Description
Duties:
- Perform dental hygiene procedures, including dental cleanings, scaling, and polishing
- Take and develop dental x-rays
- Conduct oral cancer screenings
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and provide personalized oral care instructions
- Administer local anesthesia and nitrous oxide as needed
- Assist the dentist in various procedures, such as fillings and extractions
- Maintain accurate patient records using electronic medical coding systems such as Epic, Eaglesoft, or Dentrix
- Sterilize and maintain dental instruments and equipment
Requirements:
- Valid state dental hygiene license
- Graduation from an accredited dental hygiene program
- Proficiency in using electronic medical coding systems such as Epic, Eaglesoft, or Dentrix
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate patient records
- Ability to work well in a team environment
