Overview

Responsibilities
Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling, polishing, and fluoride treatments to maintain optimal oral health.
Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, vital signs, and current dental conditions to tailor personalized care plans.
Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) using dental imaging equipment, ensuring proper technique and patient comfort.
Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions to foster long-term dental health habits.
Maintain accurate electronic health records (EHR/EHR systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix), documenting all treatments, observations, and patient interactions clearly and thoroughly.
Follow strict infection prevention protocols, including aseptic techniques and sterilization procedures, to ensure a safe environment for patients and staff.
Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations by maintaining patient confidentiality at all times during record handling and communication.
Support the dental team with administrative tasks such as reviewing documentation, medical coding, and managing medical records as needed.Experience
Proven experience working as a Dental Hygienist in a fast-paced dental office or clinic setting with strong knowledge of general dentistry procedures.
Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix for documentation review and management.
Hands-on experience with dental x-ray techniques, medical imaging, and vital signs measurement.
Expertise in infection prevention management, including sterilization processes, aseptic technique, and healthcare infection control standards.
Strong understanding of dental terminology, medical terminology, anatomy related to oral health, and medical coding practices.
Excellent client communication skills with the ability to educate patients effectively about their dental care needs.
Pay: $48.00 - $58.00 per hour
