Job Description
Overview
We at the Boise Dental Center are looking for an experienced Dental Hygentist to join our team. We have been at our location for over 50 years and are a smaller, single doctor owned practiced full of long term patients. We are a one doctor, one assistant, and two hygentist office with two front office staff. Our hygentists work independantly with one hour minimum appointments. We are a low volume/high value practice. We are in need of someone willing to work either 3 or 4 days a week but are willing to provde flexibility if needed.
Responsibilities
Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup.
Conduct patient assessments by taking a medical history and dental examinations to inform treatment plans.
Capture high-quality dental radiographs using digital imaging technology while ensuring patient safety through proper aseptic techniques.
Educate patients on proper dental care practices, including oral hygiene techniques, dietary advice, and preventive measures.
Maintain accurate and detailed medical records in electronic health records (EHR) system.
Manage infection prevention protocols by adhering to healthcare infection prevention and control standards, including sterilization of dental equipment and maintaining a sterile environment.
Skills
Proficiency in dental software platforms (we use Curve Dental) for documentation review, scheduling, and record management.
Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, medical terminology, and medical coding to ensure precise communication and documentation.
Skilled in chairside assisting with dental equipment operation, X-ray procedures, and maintaining patient comfort throughout treatments.
Excellent client communication skills to educate patients effectively about their oral health status and treatment options.
Healthcare infection prevention and control expertise with a focus on aseptic technique and maintaining patient confidentiality under HIPAA regulations.
Pay: $50.00 - $55.00 per hour
