Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Registered Dental Hygienist to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical skills, a passion for patient education, and the ability to deliver high-quality dental care. This paid position offers an opportunity to work in a supportive environment focused on comprehensive oral health and patient satisfaction. 8am - 5pm but can be flexible.
Responsibilities
Perform dental prophylaxis, including cleaning teeth and removing plaque and calculus to promote oral health.
Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, vital signs, and dental charts to ensure safe and effective treatment.
Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions to enhance their understanding of dental health.
Operate dental equipment such as X-ray machines, intraoral cameras, and sterilization tools while maintaining infection prevention standards.
Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) in accordance with safety protocols and legal requirements.
Assist the dentist during procedures through chairside assisting, including handing instruments and managing patient comfort.
Maintain accurate medical records within electronic health records (EHR) systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix, ensuring HIPAA compliance and confidentiality.
Follow infection control procedures using aseptic techniques to prevent cross-contamination and ensure patient safety.
Skills
Proficiency with dental software systems such as Eaglesoft and Dentrix for documentation and scheduling.
Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and medical terminology relevant to dentistry.
Experience with pediatric dentistry practices, including working with children in a compassionate manner.
Skilled in four-handed dentistry techniques to optimize efficiency during procedures.
Ability to perform medical imaging accurately while adhering to safety standards.
Knowledge of HIPAA regulations related to patient privacy and confidentiality management.
Excellent communication skills for effective client interaction and education on dental care topics.
Familiarity with infection prevention management, sterilization protocols, and healthcare infection control standards.
