Our Comprehensive New Patient Process
We believe every adult patient deserves a complete diagnosis before treatment begins.

Every new adult patient begins with a comprehensive examination with the doctor rather than a routine cleaning. During that visit, the hygienist performs a complete periodontal evaluation and charting while working alongside the doctor.

Together, the doctor and hygienist evaluate each patient's oral and periodontal health and determine the most appropriate course of treatment. Patients then return for the hygiene care they truly need—whether that is a prophylaxis, scaling and root planing, periodontal maintenance, or other recommended periodontal treatment.

This comprehensive approach allows our hygienists to practice at the top of their license, provide evidence-based periodontal care, educate patients on the connection between oral health and overall health, and make a meaningful impact on long-term patient outcomes.

Responsibilities
Perform comprehensive periodontal assessments and charting
Provide preventive and periodontal therapy
Educate patients on oral health and the oral-systemic connection
Take diagnostic radiographs
Administer local anesthesia (if licensed)
Collaborate with the doctor to develop individualized treatment plans
Maintain accurate clinical documentation
Deliver an exceptional patient experience through education, compassion, and clinical excellence
Qualifications
Current Michigan Registered Dental Hygienist license
Current CPR certification
Excellent communication and patient education skills
Positive attitude and team-oriented mindset
Passion for comprehensive dentistry and continual learning
