Job Description
Overview
Join our dynamic dental team as a Registered Dental Hygienist and become a vital part of delivering exceptional oral healthcare! Duties
Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup.
Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) accurately using dental imaging equipment while maintaining patient comfort.
Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, vital signs, and current dental conditions to inform treatment plans.
Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, including brushing, flossing techniques, and dietary advice for healthy teeth and gums.
Assist with chairside procedures such as applying sealants or fluoride treatments, ensuring infection prevention protocols are strictly followed.
Manage electronic health records in Dentrix), documenting all patient interactions thoroughly and accurately.
Maintain strict adherence to HIPAA regulations by protecting patient confidentiality and managing medical records securely.
Support infection control standards through aseptic techniques, sterilizing dental instruments, and managing healthcare infection prevention measures.
Collaborate with dentists and other team members to ensure seamless patient care delivery in general dentistry and pediatric dentistry settings.
Monitor patient vital signs during appointments and recognize signs that require immediate attention or referral.
Experience
Proven experience working as a Dental Hygienist in a fast-paced dental office or clinic environment.
Proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Dentrix is highly preferred.
Strong knowledge of dental terminology, medical terminology, and anatomy related to oral health.
Hands-on experience with dental equipment operation, X-ray procedures, and infection prevention management.
Ability to perform four-handed dentistry techniques efficiently to optimize patient comfort and clinical workflow.
Knowledge of HIPAA compliance management and documentation review processes for accurate medical coding and billing support.
