Overview

Duties
Perform comprehensive dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup.
Conduct patient assessments by taking vital signs, medical histories, and reviewing medical records to ensure safe treatment planning.
Assist in pediatric dentistry procedures with a focus on gentle care tailored to young patients.
Utilize dental software systems such as Eaglesoft and Dentrix for accurate documentation, charting, and medical record management.
Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and preventive care strategies to improve their long-term dental health.
Support chairside assisting during various dental procedures, ensuring aseptic technique and infection control protocols are strictly followed.
Take and interpret medical imaging, including X-rays, while maintaining patient comfort and safety standards.
Requirements
Valid licensure as a Registered Dental Hygienist in accordance with state regulations.
Proven experience in general dentistry and pediatric dentistry settings, with familiarity using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems.
Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control practices, and HIPAA regulations to protect patient privacy.
Ability to perform patient care tasks such as medical imaging, vital signs measurement, and patient assessment with precision.
Excellent communication skills for explaining treatment plans and oral health education clearly to diverse patient populations.
Experience with dental assisting duties including chairside support during procedures and documentation review.
