Responsibilities
Perform comprehensive dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup
Conduct patient assessments by taking vital signs, medical history, and dental examinations to ensure accurate diagnosis and treatment planning
Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) using dental imaging equipment while adhering to safety protocols
Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions to enhance their understanding of dental health
Assist with chairside procedures in four-handed dentistry, ensuring smooth workflow between dentist and hygienist
Maintain accurate electronic health records (EHR) using systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix, documenting all patient interactions thoroughly
Follow infection prevention protocols, including aseptic techniques and sterilization of dental tools and equipment, to ensure patient safety in compliance with HIPAA regulations
Review medical records for relevant health information that impacts dental care and coordinate with healthcare providers as needed
Support the dental team by managing appointment scheduling, patient communication, and ensuring compliance with all HIPAA privacy standards
Experience
Valid state licensure as a Registered Dental Hygienist with current CPR certification
Proven experience in general dentistry settings with a focus on pediatric dentistry preferred
Proficiency in using dental software such as Open dental for electronic records management
Strong knowledge of dental terminology, medical terminology, and anatomy relevant to oral health care
Hands-on experience with dental x-ray techniques, medical imaging, and maintaining infection control standards
Excellent client communication skills with the ability to educate patients effectively about their oral health needs

Pay: $44.49 - $53.58 per hour
