Registered Dental Hygienist

Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and professional Registered Dental Hygienist to join our dental practice in Bolton, Ontario for a Saturday position.

The ideal candidate will provide exceptional patient care, perform dental hygiene treatments, and support the overall oral health and well being of our patients. Candidates should have strong clinical skills, excellent communication abilities, and a passion for patient education and preventive dentistry.

Duties
The Registered Dental Hygienist will be responsible for:
Performing dental prophylaxis, including scaling, cleaning, and polishing teeth to remove plaque and tartar buildup
Taking dental radiographs as needed
Providing patient education on oral hygiene practices and preventive care
Performing periodontal charting and documenting clinical findings accurately
Supporting the dentist during examinations and patient care as needed
Maintaining accurate patient records using AbelDent or similar dental software
Preparing treatment rooms and ensuring proper infection prevention and sterilization protocols are followed
Supporting pediatric patients with gentle care and effective communication
Managing patient questions and concerns with professionalism and empathy
Ensuring a clean, organized, and welcoming environment in the dental office
Working collaboratively with dentists, dental assistants, and administrative staff
Skills and Qualifications
Must be a Registered Dental Hygienist in good standing with the CDHO
Proficiency with AbelDent or other dental management software is an asset
Knowledge of general dentistry procedures
Experience with pediatric patients is an asset
Orthodontic knowledge or experience is an asset
Strong understanding of dental terminology and clinical documentation
Excellent customer service and patient communication skills
Ability to work efficiently in a fast paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
Compassionate communication skills, especially when working with children and anxious patients
Professional, punctual, reliable, and team oriented
