Job Description

Job Overview
Join our dental team as a Part time Registered Dental Hygienist on Tuesdays and Wednesdays and play a vital role in delivering exceptional patient care and education. In this energetic and rewarding position.

Responsibilities
Perform comprehensive dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing, to maintain optimal oral health.

Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical history, vital signs, and dental charts to inform treatment plans.

Take and develop dental x-rays using digital imaging technology while adhering to infection prevention protocols.

Educate patients on proper dental care techniques, emphasizing the importance of oral hygiene and preventive practices.

Assist with chairside procedures, including passing instruments, managing dental equipment, and ensuring patient comfort.

Maintain accurate and detailed medical records in electronic health records (EHR) Dentrix, ensuring HIPAA compliance.

Follow strict infection control procedures using aseptic techniques to prevent cross-contamination and ensure patient safety.

Communicate effectively with patients of all ages, including pediatrics, providing clear explanations of procedures and care instructions.

Support the dental team by reviewing documentation, managing medical records, and ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations.

Collaborate with dentists and other staff members to deliver comprehensive general dentistry services in a fast-paced environment.

Experience
Valid license as a Registered Dental Hygienist with current state licensure.

Proven experience in dental hygiene practice within a clinical or dental office setting.

Familiarity with dental terminology, medical terminology, and anatomy knowledge relevant to oral health.

Hands-on experience with dental x-ray procedures, digital imaging, and radiography equipment.

Proficiency in EMR/EHR systems such as Dentrix for documentation review and management.

Strong understanding of infection prevention management, healthcare infection control standards, and aseptic techniques.

Knowledge of pediatric dentistry practices is highly desirable to effectively serve young patients.

Excellent client communication skills coupled with the ability to educate patients about their oral health needs.

Ability to work efficiently within a team using four-handed dentistry techniques for optimal patient care delivery.
