Join our dynamic dental team as a Registered Dental Hygienist and become a vital part of delivering exceptional oral health care! In this energetic role, you will provide comprehensive dental hygiene services, educate patients on maintaining optimal oral health, and support the overall efficiency of our dental practice. Duties
Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup
Conduct patient assessments by taking vital signs, medical histories, and reviewing medical records to ensure safe treatment plans
Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) using dental imaging equipment while maintaining radiation safety protocols
Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions to promote lifelong dental health
Assist with chairside procedures in four-handed dentistry, ensuring smooth workflow between dentist and hygienist
Maintain accurate documentation of patient care, treatment plans, and medical records in electronic health record (EHR) systems. We use Open Dental.
Follow infection prevention management protocols, including aseptic techniques and infection control standards aligned with HIPAA compliance
Requirements
Valid state licensure as a Registered Dental Hygienist with current credentials to practice legally
Proven experience in general dentistry and pediatric dentistry environments is highly preferred
Proficiency in dental terminology, dental equipment operation, and medical terminology for accurate patient assessment and documentation
Familiarity with EHR/EHR system for efficient record keeping and documentation review. We use Open Dental.
Strong understanding of healthcare infection prevention, control practices, and HIPAA regulations to maintain patient confidentiality
Ability to perform dental x-ray procedures safely while adhering to radiation safety standards
Excellent client communication skills with a focus on patient education and comfort during procedures
Knowledge of anatomy relevant to dental care is advantageous
