Job Description

Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Dental Hygienist to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong commitment to patient care, excellent clinical skills, and a thorough understanding of dental procedures and infection control protocols. As a key member of our practice, the Registered Dental Hygienist will focus on promoting oral health, providing preventive care, and ensuring a comfortable experience for all patients. Duties
Perform dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup, ensuring optimal oral health for patients.

Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, vital signs, and current dental conditions to develop appropriate treatment plans.

Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques, preventive care strategies, and the importance of maintaining healthy habits.

Assist with chairside procedures such as taking dental radiographs (medical imaging) and applying topical anesthetics in accordance with aseptic techniques.

Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of patient records, treatment notes, and medical histories using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix.

Ensure infection control standards are strictly followed to prevent cross-contamination and promote a safe clinical environment.

Collaborate with dentists and dental assistants to provide comprehensive care in general dentistry and pediatric dentistry settings.

Stay current with industry regulations including HIPAA compliance and updates in medical terminology, medical coding, and documentation review processes.

Skills
Proficiency in dental software systems such as Eaglesoft and Dentrix for scheduling, records management, and billing.

Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control procedures, and aseptic techniques.

Experience working with pediatric patients and familiarity with pediatric dentistry best practices.

Excellent patient care skills with the ability to communicate effectively across diverse populations.

Ability to perform vital signs assessment accurately and handle medical emergencies confidently when necessary.

Knowledge of medical imaging techniques relevant to dentistry and understanding of medical records management.

Competence in chairside assisting during various dental procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques.

Familiarity with medical coding standards related to dental services for accurate documentation review. Starting at $65.00+ depends on experience.
