Overview
Join our dynamic dental team as a Registered Dental Hygienist and become a vital part of delivering exceptional patient care in a vibrant, patient-focused environment. Duties
Perform dental prophylaxis, including scaling and polishing teeth to remove plaque and tartar buildup, ensuring optimal oral health.
Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, vital signs, and dental charts to inform treatment plans.
Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and preventive care strategies tailored to their individual needs.
Assist with chairside procedures such as taking dental radiographs (medical imaging), applying fluoride treatments, and providing sealants.
Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of patient records, treatment notes, and medical history in electronic health records (EHR/EMR systems) like Eaglesoft or Dentrix.
Follow strict infection control protocols using aseptic techniques to prevent cross-contamination and ensure patient safety.
Support general dentistry procedures by collaborating with dentists during examinations, assisting with medical coding, and reviewing documentation for accuracy.
Requirements
Valid state licensure as a Registered Dental Hygienist with current certification to practice.
Proven experience in dental office settings, preferably with exposure to pediatric dentistry and pediatric patients.
Proficiency in dental terminology, medical terminology, and understanding of anatomy relevant to oral health.
Familiarity with dental assisting procedures such as chairside assisting and infection control practices.
Experience using dental practice management software such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix; EMR systems knowledge is highly desirable.
Ability to perform vital signs assessment accurately and handle medical records review with attention to detail.
Strong knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality and compliance with healthcare privacy standards.
