Duties
Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup.

Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) ensuring proper technique and patient comfort.

Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical history, vital signs, and current dental health status.

Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions.

Assist the dentist during procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques to improve workflow efficiency.

Maintain accurate and detailed medical records, including documentation review and updates in electronic health records (EHR) systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix.

Follow infection prevention protocols, including aseptic techniques and infection control standards aligned with healthcare regulations like HIPAA.

Requirements
Valid SC state licensure as a Registered Dental Hygienist with current certification to perform dental hygiene procedures.

Proven experience in general dentistry or dental clinic environments preferred.

Proficiency in EHR/EHR management systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix.

Strong knowledge of dental terminology, medical terminology, and anatomy relevant to oral health.

Skilled in hygiene, dental equipment operation, and dental x-ray procedures.

Excellent communication skills for client education and team collaboration; ability to explain complex procedures clearly.

Commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations.

Knowledge of infection prevention management, aseptic techniques, and healthcare infection control best practices.
