Job Summary
Our private general dentistry practice in Clearwater is seeking a Registered Dental Hygienist to provide comprehensive preventative care to our patients. This role involves performing clinical procedures and patient education to maintain oral health standards.
Looking for a hygienist with friendly personality that wants to become part of an amazing team. Patients are really friendly too. Looking for a permanent team member that would like to be with us for a long time.
Duties
Perform cleanings, scaling, and polishing procedures.
Perform periodontal assessments.
Execute oral cancer screenings.
Apply fluoride and sealant treatments.
Educate patients on oral hygiene practices.
Capture high-quality dental radiographs (X-rays) and interpret images for accurate diagnosis while maintaining strict adherence to infection prevention protocols.
Manage electronic health records (EHR) systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix for documentation review, treatment planning, and record keeping in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
Maintain dental equipment, sterilize instruments using aseptic techniques, and ensure the clinic’s infection control standards are consistently met.
Communicate clearly with patients regarding treatment plans, procedures, and billing information while maintaining confidentiality per HIPAA guidelines.
Support the dental team by assisting with chairside procedures, preparing materials, and ensuring a smooth workflow during patient visits.
Qualifications
Valid state licensure as a Registered Dental Hygienist with current certification to practice.
Proven experience in general dentistry or pediatric dentistry settings preferred; familiarity with pediatric dentistry is a plus.
Proficiency in dental software such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix for managing electronic health records (EHR).
Strong knowledge of dental terminology, medical terminology, anatomy, and medical imaging techniques.
Expertise in infection prevention management, aseptic technique, and healthcare infection control standards.
Excellent patient care skills with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse patient populations including pediatrics.
Ability to perform X-ray procedures accurately while maintaining safety protocols for both patients and staff.
Knowledge of HIPAA compliance management and maintaining patient confidentiality at all times.
Experience with dental assisting tasks such as chairside assisting, documentation review, and equipment maintenance is highly desirable.
