Job Description
Rare opportunity to join our small, private practice general dentist office as a Registered Dental Hygienist. We are fully out of network with all insurances and patient-centered care is our top priority. No rushed appointments or corporate agendas. We are a small office of 6 plus one dentist. Hours are Monday-Thursday. Latest appointment is 3 pm.
Responsibilities
Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling, polishing, and fluoride treatments to promote optimal oral health.
Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, vital signs, and current dental conditions to inform treatment plans.
Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions to enhance their dental health journey.
Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays), ensuring adherence to safety protocols and proper documentation within electronic health records (EHR).
Maintain accurate medical records, document treatment details, and review clinical notes in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
Manage infection prevention protocols by sterilizing equipment, practicing aseptic techniques, and ensuring a safe clinical environment.
Requirements
Valid state licensure as a Registered Dental Hygienist with current certification to perform dental hygiene procedures.
Proficiency in dental software systems such as Open Dental for charting, scheduling, and documentation management.
Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, medical terminology, and dental equipment operation.
Excellent communication skills for client interaction, patient education, and team collaboration.
Ability to perform X-ray procedures safely while maintaining patient comfort and adhering to radiation safety standards.
Local anesthetic certification is a plus.
Knowledge of healthcare infection prevention and control practices, including HIPAA compliance and maintaining patient confidentiality.
