Job Description

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Registered Dental Hygienist to join our reputable dental practice. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional patient care, perform thorough dental cleanings, and assist in maintaining a clean and safe clinical environment. This role requires a strong understanding of dental procedures, excellent communication skills, and adherence to all health and safety regulations. Experience with EMR systems and knowledge of pediatric dentistry are highly valued. The Registered Dental Hygienist will play a vital role in promoting oral health and ensuring patient comfort throughout their visit.

Duties
Perform comprehensive dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing teeth to remove plaque and tartar.

Conduct patient assessments, including vital signs and medical history review.

Take and develop medical imaging such as X-rays while maintaining proper infection control protocols.

Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care to promote long-term dental health.

Assist with chairside procedures, including four-handed dentistry techniques, to support the dentist during treatments.

Document patient information accurately within EMR systems, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations.

Review medical records for relevant health information that may impact dental treatment plans.

Maintain aseptic techniques and adhere to infection control standards to ensure a sterile environment.

Collaborate with the dental team to ensure efficient practice operations, including documentation review and medical coding as needed.

Provide pediatric dentistry services when required, demonstrating patience and understanding for young patients.

Experience
Valid state licensure as a Registered Dental Hygienist.

Proven experience in general dentistry or pediatric dentistry settings preferred.

Proficiency with dental software such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix is highly desirable.

Familiarity with EMR systems, medical coding, and documentation review processes.

Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control protocols, and aseptic techniques.

Prior experience with dental assisting duties, chairside assisting, or related roles is advantageous.

Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations and medical records management.

Experience working with pediatric patients is a plus but not mandatory; excellent patient care skills are essential for all age groups.
