Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Hygienist to join our dynamic dental team. The days and hours are flexible. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care, performing dental cleanings, and assisting in various dental procedures. This role requires a strong understanding of dental terminology, infection control practices, and the ability to work effectively with patients of all ages, including children. A commitment to maintaining patient comfort and safety while adhering to HIPAA regulations is essential.
Responsibilities
Conduct thorough patient assessments and document medical histories in compliance with HIPAA standards.
Perform dental cleanings and apply preventive materials such as sealants and fluoride.
Take and interpret medical imaging, including X-rays, to assist in diagnosis and treatment planning.
Provide chairside assistance during dental procedures, ensuring a smooth workflow for the dentist.
Educate patients on oral hygiene practices, nutrition, and the importance of regular dental visits.
Maintain accurate medical records and documentation review for each patient visit.
Adhere to aseptic techniques and infection control protocols to ensure a safe environment for patients.
Collaborate with the dental team to enhance patient care and improve office efficiency.
Experience
Previous experience in a dental office or clinic setting is preferred, with familiarity in using EMR systems such as Eaglesoft.
Knowledge of pediatric dentistry practices is a plus, along with experience in four-handed dentistry techniques.
Proficiency in vital signs monitoring and understanding of anatomy knowledge relevant to dental care.
Strong background in medical terminology, documentation review, medical coding, and infection control measures is essential.
