Responsibilities
Perform comprehensive dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing, to maintain optimal oral health for patients of all ages.
Conduct patient assessments by taking medical histories and evaluating oral health status to inform treatment plans.
Manage medical imaging procedures such as X-rays while adhering to safety protocols and infection control standards.
Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions to empower their health decisions.
Maintain accurate documentation of patient records, treatment notes, and medical histories in electronic medical record (EMR) systems like Dentrix.
Follow HIPAA guidelines strictly to ensure patient confidentiality and secure handling of medical records.
Requirements
Valid licensure as a Registered Dental Hygienist in accordance with state regulations.
Proven experience in general dentistry, pediatric dentistry, or dental clinics with familiarity in pediatric dentistry is highly desirable.
Proficiency with EMR systems such as Dentrix for documentation review and medical coding.
Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control procedures, aseptic techniques, and medical terminology.
