Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Registered Dental Hygienist to join our reputable dental practice. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional patient care, perform thorough dental cleanings, and assist in maintaining a safe and efficient clinical environment. This role requires a strong knowledge of dental terminology, infection control protocols, and proficiency with EMR systems. Experience in pediatric dentistry and four-handed dentistry is highly valued. The Registered Dental Hygienist will collaborate closely with the dental team to ensure optimal oral health outcomes for patients of all ages.
Current Hours:
Monday- CLOSED
Tuesday- 8:00 am - 5:00 pm
Wednesday- 8:00 am - 5:00 pm
Thursday- 8:00 am - 5:00 pm
Friday- 8:00 - 2:00 pm
Responsibilities
Perform comprehensive dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing teeth to remove plaque and tartar.
Conduct patient assessments, including vital signs and medical history review, ensuring patient comfort and safety.
Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care instructions.
Assist with chairside procedures, including medical imaging and documentation review.
Maintain strict infection control standards using aseptic techniques and adhere to HIPAA regulations to protect patient confidentiality.
Utilize dental software such as Eaglesoft and Dentrix for accurate documentation of patient records and treatment plans.
Support pediatric patients by providing gentle care tailored to their needs, including pediatric-specific procedures.
Collaborate with dentists during procedures involving general dentistry, medical imaging, or other treatments requiring precise documentation and medical coding.
Ensure the clinical environment remains sterile, organized, and compliant with all safety protocols.
Experience
Valid state licensure as a Registered Dental Hygienist.
Proven experience in a dental office setting, preferably within a general or pediatric dentistry practice.
Proficiency with EMR systems such as Open Dental and Dentrix.
Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control practices, and medical records management.
Experience with four-handed dentistry techniques, chairside assisting, and patient care procedures is preferred.
Familiarity with HIPAA regulations, medical coding, and documentation review processes is advantageous.
Prior experience working with pediatric patients is a plus but not mandatory; training will be provided for specialized procedures as needed.
