NEW GRADS WELCOME!
Our well established private pediatric practice is seeking a dedicated Registered Dental Hygienist to join our stellar dental team on Fridays. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in dental hygiene, with a focus on providing exceptional patient care in a fast-paced, pediatric dentistry environment. This role involves delivering comprehensive oral health services, supporting patient education, and ensuring compliance with all safety and infection control protocols. The successful candidate will demonstrate excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and a passion for promoting optimal oral health. Most importantly: MUST LOVE WHAT THEY DO!
Duties
Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling, polishing, and fluoride treatments to promote oral health.
Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, vital signs, and current dental conditions.
Take dental radiographs (X-rays) using appropriate medical imaging techniques while maintaining patient comfort. (we use Dexis).
Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices and preventive care tailored to pediatric dentistry when applicable.
Maintain accurate and detailed medical records in electronic health records (EHR) systems (we use Dentrix)
Adhere strictly to infection prevention management protocols, including aseptic techniques and infection control standards.
Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations by maintaining patient confidentiality and safeguarding sensitive medical information.
Operate dental equipment safely and effectively.
Support the overall workflow of the dental office by managing documentation review, medical coding, and ensuring seamless patient care delivery.
Qualifications
Valid state licensure as a Registered Dental Hygienist with current certification to practice in the relevant jurisdiction. NEW GRADS WELCOME!
Proven experience in pediatric dentistry preferred.
Proficiency in dental software (Dentrix) for scheduling, documentation, and EHR management.
Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and medical terminology relevant to dental care.
Expertise in infection prevention management, aseptic technique, and healthcare infection control standards.
Excellent patient care skills with the ability to communicate effectively across diverse patient populations.
Knowledge of medical coding procedures related to dental services for accurate billing and documentation review.
Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment while maintaining high standards of professionalism.
