Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Hygienist to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in patient care and be adept in various dental procedures. This role is essential in providing high-quality dental hygiene services, ensuring patient comfort, and promoting oral health education. The successful candidate will work closely with both patients and the dental team to deliver exceptional care in a supportive environment. We are a privately owned office and are adding new associates to our team. We have two locations located in Lexington, Kentucky (Beaumont Dental Associates and Fayette Mall Dental). We offer 1-hour appointments for existing patients and 1.5 hours for new patients. The office is stocked with sharp instruments and Cavitrons. Hours are flexible!
Responsibilities
Perform comprehensive dental cleanings and assessments for patients of all ages, including pediatric dentistry.
Utilize Eaglesoft software for patient documentation and record management.
Conduct vital signs assessments and maintain accurate medical records in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
Assist in chairside procedures, employing four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency during treatments.
Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and the importance of regular dental visits.
Maintain infection control protocols and aseptic techniques to ensure a safe environment for patients and staff.
Collaborate with the dental team to develop individualized patient care plans based on thorough assessments.
Stay updated on dental terminology, medical coding, and documentation review processes to ensure accurate billing and record-keeping.
Requirements
Valid Dental Hygienist license in the state of practice.
Experience in a dental office or clinic setting is preferred, with familiarity in general dentistry practices.
Proficient knowledge of anatomy, medical terminology, and infection control standards.
Anesthesia certificate is required - as we see multiple periodontal patients.
Knowledge with Eaglesoft is preferred; but willing to train.
Experience with EMR systems for efficient patient documentation is highly desirable.
Strong communication skills to effectively interact with patients and team members.
Ability to perform medical imaging as required during patient assessments.
