We are seeking a passionate and detail-oriented Registered Dental Hygienist to join our dynamic dental team. Responsibilities
Perform comprehensive dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup
Conduct thorough patient assessments, including vital signs, medical history review, and oral examinations
Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and treatment options using clear dental terminology
Maintain accurate medical documentation and dental records in EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems like Softdent
Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations by safeguarding patient information and confidentiality
Take and develop dental radiographs as needed for diagnosis and treatment planning
Support the dental office team by coordinating patient scheduling with the front desk staff and managing patient flow
Skills
Proficiency with EMR systems for efficient record keeping
Strong knowledge of dental terminology, procedures, and general dentistry practices
Experience with medical coding related to dental procedures and insurance billing processes
Familiarity with medical documentation standards and HIPAA compliance requirements
Ability to assess patient needs accurately through clinical examination and vital signs measurement
Knowledge of pediatric dentistry, endodontics, prosthodontics, and other specialty areas is a plus
Excellent communication skills to educate patients effectively about oral health maintenance
