Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Dental Hygienist to join our dynamic dental team Fridays from 8:30am-3pm. The ideal candidate will possess a strong commitment to patient care, excellent clinical skills, and a thorough understanding of dental hygiene practices. As a Registered Dental Hygienist, you will play a vital role in promoting oral health, providing preventive care, and supporting overall patient well-being within our general dentistry and pediatric dentistry services. This position offers an engaging environment where professionalism, compassion, and attention to detail are highly valued.
Duties
Perform comprehensive dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and calculus buildup.
Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, vital signs, and dental charts to ensure accurate treatment planning.
Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and preventive care strategies tailored to individual needs.
Take and develop dental radiographs, while adhering to aseptic techniques and infection control protocols.
Assist with chairside procedures in pediatric dentistry and general dentistry settings, ensuring smooth workflow through four-handed dentistry practices.
Maintain accurate documentation of patient records, treatment notes, and medical records in electronic medical record (EMR) system.
Review documentation for accuracy and completeness, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations for patient confidentiality.
Collaborate with the dental team to ensure infection control standards are upheld and that all clinical areas are properly sanitized.
Monitor patient vital signs during appointments to identify any health concerns that may impact dental treatment.
Requirements
Valid NJ state licensure as a Registered Dental Hygienist with current certification to practice in a clinical setting.
Proven experience in dental office environments.
Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control protocols, and aseptic techniques.
Experience working with pediatric patients and understanding of pediatric dentistry best practices is highly desirable.
Proficiency in taking medical images and assessing medical records for comprehensive patient care.
Ability to perform patient care tasks efficiently while maintaining a compassionate approach tailored to diverse patient needs.
Excellent communication skills for educating patients about oral health and collaborating effectively with team members.
Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and medical terminology relevant to dental practice management.
