Job Overview
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Registered Dental Hygienist to join our dental team. In this vital role, you will deliver exceptional patient care by providing thorough dental cleanings, patient education, and preventive services. Your expertise will help promote optimal oral health, ensuring patients feel comfortable, informed, and confident in their dental experience.
Salary based on experience.
Responsibilities
Perform comprehensive dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup.
Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, vital signs, and dental charts to ensure safe and effective treatment.
Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions to foster lifelong healthy habits.
Take dental radiographs (X-rays), ensuring accurate imaging while adhering to infection prevention protocols.
Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques for efficiency and patient comfort.
Maintain accurate electronic health records through Dentrix, documenting all treatments, observations, and patient interactions clearly.
Follow strict infection control procedures, including aseptic techniques and sterilization of dental equipment, to ensure a safe environment for patients and staff.
Monitor patient vital signs before procedures to assess overall health status and identify any contraindications.
Manage patient communication effectively by explaining treatment plans, answering questions, and ensuring confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
Experience
Proven experience working as a Dental Hygienist within a general and pediatric dentistry setting.
Familiarity with dental software- Dentrix for managing electronic health records.
Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy relevant to dentistry, and medical imaging techniques including X-ray procedures.
Strong understanding of infection prevention management, aseptic techniques, and healthcare infection control standards.
Ability to perform dental assisting duties such as chairside assisting during various procedures efficiently.
Excellent client communication skills with the ability to educate patients on dental care practices effectively.
