Job Description
Our family practice is looking for a hygienist 1-2 days a week from May-July. Our Tue-Thu hygienist is on maternity leave and we could use some extra help while she's gone. Our practice is one female doctor and you'll be working next to another hygienist. We love seeing family members of all ages and Dr. DiMariano also has a love for dentistry that is founded on keeping teeth healthy and preserving tooth structure (periodontal education, fluoride varnish, SDF, MI Paste). Adult Prophy or PMT: 1 hour
Child Prophy: 30 min
SRP: 1 hour per quad
Hygiene Duties
Perform complete and gentle scaling with quality hand instruments, cavitron, and/or piezo.
Perform annual full periodontal evaluation, including probings, furcations, mobility, and recession measurements.
Take high quality digital x-rays of all teeth.
Perform head and neck evaluations during appointments, including oral cancer screenings.
Assist the dentist during examinations and give a periodontal report to the doctor.
Administration of local anesthetic, nitrous oxide sedation, and Oraquix, as needed.
Place quality sealants.
Patient education, including: brushing & flossing technique & nutrition.
Discuss product recommendations, benefits, and instructions for use.
General Clinical Duties
Sterilize and disinfect instruments and equipment.
Seat and dismiss patients using office protocol.
Conduct medical history interviews, take vitals, and enter data for both into Open Dental.
Complete clinical documentation of your hygiene procedures and Dr. exams prior to the end of the day.

California Registered Dental Hygienist license (Preferred)
Work Location: In person
