Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Dental Hygienist to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong passion for patient care and oral health promotion, with comprehensive knowledge of dental hygiene practices and clinical procedures. As a Registered Dental Hygienist, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality preventive dental services, educating patients on oral health maintenance, and supporting overall patient well-being within a professional and compassionate environment. Duties
Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling and root planing, to remove plaque, tartar, and stains.
Conduct patient assessments by taking vital signs, medical histories, and dental radiographs (X-rays) using appropriate medical imaging techniques.
Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, including brushing, flossing, and dietary recommendations to promote optimal dental health.
Assist dentists during examinations and procedures through chairside assisting, ensuring smooth workflow and patient comfort.
Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of patient records within electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Dentrix.
Follow infection prevention management protocols by adhering to aseptic techniques and infection control standards in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
Manage dental equipment and supplies efficiently, ensuring proper sterilization and maintenance for safe clinical practice.
Skills
Proficiency in using dental software platforms such as Dentrix for scheduling, documentation review, and medical coding.
Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and medical terminology relevant to oral health care.
Expertise in dental x-ray procedures, including the operation of X-ray equipment while maintaining patient safety standards.
Excellent patient care skills with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse patient populations, including pediatrics.
Familiarity with healthcare infection prevention and control practices to ensure a safe clinical environment.
Ability to perform comprehensive patient assessments by evaluating medical records and vital signs accurately.
Experience with EMR/EHR management systems to document treatment plans and maintain confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA guidelines.
Knowledge of general dentistry procedures along with pediatric dentistry specialties to provide tailored patient education and support.
