Job Summary
Join our dynamic dental team as a Registered Dental Hygienist, where your expertise will elevate patient care and promote oral health! This full-time or part-time position offers a flexible schedule designed to accommodate your lifestyle while providing exceptional dental services. Duties
Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing, to remove plaque and tartar buildup.
Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical history, vital signs, and current oral health status.
Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) using dental imaging equipment while ensuring proper safety protocols.
Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions to promote lifelong oral health.
Maintain accurate and detailed electronic health records (EHR/EMR) using Dentrix, ensuring HIPAA compliance and confidentiality.
Follow infection prevention protocols, including aseptic techniques and sterilization of dental equipment, to uphold the highest standards of safety.
Review documentation for accuracy, assist in medical coding when necessary, and ensure all medical records are up-to-date.
Collaborate with the dental team to ensure smooth clinic operations and exceptional patient experiences.
Skills
Proficiency in Dentrix for scheduling, documentation review, and record management.
Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, medical terminology, and general dentistry procedures.
Expertise in dental x-ray techniques, X-ray safety protocols, and medical imaging technology.
Excellent patient communication skills with the ability to educate diverse patient populations about dental care and hygiene practices.
Knowledge of healthcare infection prevention and control standards, including aseptic technique and infection management practices.
Ability to perform chairside assisting efficiently during various dental procedures while maintaining a calm environment.
Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) management, medical coding, and documentation review processes.
Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations to maintain patient confidentiality at all times.
Effective team player with excellent organizational skills to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting.
