Job Description
Registered Dental Hygienist (RDH)
We are seeking an experienced, motivated, and patient-focused Registered Dental Hygienist to join our dental team. We are looking for a hygienist who understands that a strong hygiene department is an important part of both patient health and practice growth.
The ideal candidate is confident in periodontal care, laser certified, comfortable educating patients about their oral health, and able to recognize opportunities for necessary periodontal and adjunctive treatment.
Responsibilities & Qualifications
Current California Registered Dental Hygienist (RDH) license
Laser certified
Experience using Open Dental
Comfortable taking high-quality digital X-rays
Proficient with Piezo and Cavitron ultrasonic scalers
Strong periodontal charting and clinical assessment skills
Able to recognize and appropriately recommend Arestin when clinically indicated
Proficient in laser periodontal therapy within RDH scope of practice
Confident identifying periodontal disease and communicating findings to the doctor and patient
Provide thorough prophylaxis, periodontal maintenance, and scaling and root planing
Educate patients on periodontal disease, home care, and recommended treatment
Review patient history and identify overdue or necessary hygiene services
Help identify opportunities to improve and increase hygiene production through appropriate patient care
Maximize each hygiene visit by ensuring recommended and necessary services are identified and discussed
Work closely with the doctor and treatment team to support comprehensive patient care
Maintain accurate and detailed clinical documentation in Open Dental
Stay on schedule while maintaining excellent quality of care
Strong communication and patient-education skills
Dependable, professional, organized, and team-oriented
What We're Looking For
We are looking for someone who takes ownership of their hygiene schedule and understands how to build a productive hygiene department without compromising patient care.
Our ideal hygienist doesn't simply “clean teeth.” They evaluate the patient's periodontal health, educate the patient, recognize treatment needs, communicate effectively with the doctor, and help patients understand the value of completing recommended care.
A strong candidate will be comfortable helping us increase hygiene production, improve periodontal case acceptance, appropriately incorporate laser therapy and Arestin, and maintain a consistent standard of care throughout the hygiene department.
Pay: $50.00 - $55.00 per hour
Expected hours: 16.0 – 32.0 per week
