Job Overview
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Registered Dental Hygienist to join our vibrant dental team. Responsibilities
Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup.
Take and develop high-quality dental radiographs (X-rays) while ensuring patient safety and comfort.
Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, vital signs, and current oral health status.
Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques, preventative care, and post-treatment instructions to promote lifelong dental health.
Assist the dentist during various procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques to improve efficiency and patient comfort.
Maintain accurate and detailed medical records, including documentation review and updates within Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems with Open Dental
Follow infection prevention protocols, including aseptic techniques and infection control measures, to ensure a safe environment for patients and staff.
Monitor and manage dental equipment operation, ensuring all tools are sterilized and functioning correctly in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
Uphold patient confidentiality at all times by adhering to HIPAA guidelines and maintaining the integrity of medical records.
Skills
Proficiency with EHR systems such as Open Dental for efficient documentation management.
Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, medical terminology, and dental procedures.
Experience with dental equipment operation, including X-ray machines, ultrasonic scalers, and sterilization tools.
Expertise in infection prevention management, aseptic techniques, and healthcare infection control standards.
Excellent client communication skills with the ability to educate patients clearly about dental care practices.
Ability to perform patient care tasks including vital signs measurement, patient assessment, and chairside assisting.
Familiarity with dentistry principles to provide age-specific care in a compassionate manner for the whole family.
Knowledge of medical coding related to dental procedures for accurate documentation review.
Commitment to HIPAA compliance management by maintaining strict confidentiality of all patient information.
