Responsibilities
Perform comprehensive dental cleanings, including scaling, polishing, and fluoride treatments to promote optimal oral health.
Assess patient vital signs, medical history, and dental needs to develop personalized treatment plans.
Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and treatment options tailored to pediatric and adult patients.
Assist the dentist during procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques to ensure efficiency and comfort.
Take and interpret medical imaging such as X-rays while adhering to aseptic techniques and infection control protocols.
Review medical records, document treatment details accurately in EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix, and ensure HIPAA compliance.
Maintain a sterile environment by following strict infection control procedures, including sterilization of instruments and proper disposal of biohazard materials.
Collaborate with team members on patient care strategies, ensuring seamless documentation review and medical coding accuracy for billing purposes.
Qualifications
Valid state licensure as a Registered Dental Hygienist with current credentials.
Proven experience in dental office settings with knowledge of dental assisting, chairside assisting, and medical terminology.
Familiarity with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix is highly preferred.
Strong understanding of infection control standards, aseptic technique, anatomy knowledge, and HIPAA regulations
Excellent communication skills to effectively educate patients about dental health and treatment plans.
