Registered Dental Hygienist

Duties
Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup
Conduct patient assessments by taking vital signs, medical histories, and reviewing medical records in compliance with HIPAA regulations
Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques, dietary habits, and preventive care strategies
Take and interpret medical imaging such as X-rays while ensuring proper aseptic technique and infection control protocols
Document all patient interactions accurately within electronic medical record (EMR) systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix
Monitor and record vital signs, medical information, and dental terminology to support comprehensive patient care
Maintain a clean, sterile environment following infection control standards and OSHA guidelines
Support pediatric dentistry cases by providing specialized care for children and adolescents in a friendly manner
Review documentation for accuracy, assist with medical coding when necessary, and ensure compliance with all healthcare regulations
Qualifications
Valid licensure as a Registered Dental Hygienist in accordance with state requirements
Proven experience working in general dentistry or pediatric dentistry settings with familiarity using EMR systems. Open Dental is a plus!

Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control practices, and aseptic techniques
Excellent patient care skills with a compassionate approach tailored to pediatric patients when needed
Proficiency in taking medical imaging (X-rays), vital signs, and conducting patient assessments accurately
Familiarity with HIPAA regulations regarding medical records confidentiality and documentation review processes
Knowledge of medical coding related to dental procedures is a plus but not required
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail

Pay: $30.00 - $40.00 per hour
