Temporary Registered Dental Hygienist
Seymour Dental | Kamloops, BC
Temporary Medical Leave Coverage
$55.00–$58.50 per hour
Job Summary
Seymour Dental is seeking a friendly, compassionate, and dependable Registered Dental Hygienist to join our team temporarily while one of our valued team members is on medical leave.
We are a friendly, supportive, and collaborative team working alongside respected dentists in a privately owned general dental practice. The successful candidate will step into a full, established hygiene schedule and play an important role in providing exceptional preventive care and a positive experience for our patients.
The working days may be flexible based on availability and may include any day of the week; however, coverage is definitely required on Thursdays and Fridays.
Hours: 7:30 a.m.–4:45 p.m.
Compensation: $55.00–$58.50 per hour, based on experience
Responsibilities:
Provide comprehensive dental hygiene care, including scaling, root planing, polishing, and preventive treatments
Complete periodontal assessments and accurately document clinical findings
Take digital dental radiographs when required and in accordance with established safety protocols
Review patients’ medical and dental histories
Educate patients about oral hygiene, preventive care, periodontal health, and recommended treatment
Maintain accurate and detailed patient records
Collaborate with dentists, dental assistants, and administrative team members to support excellent patient care and efficient patient flow
Follow all infection prevention and control standards and practice protocols
Contribute positively to a respectful, supportive, and collaborative team environment
Qualifications
Registered and in good standing, or eligible for registration, as a Dental Hygienist in British Columbia
Compassionate and patient-focused approach to care
Strong clinical, communication, and interpersonal skills
Professional, reliable, and comfortable working as part of a collaborative team
Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining accurate patient records
Experience with Dentrix is an asset but not required
Previous experience in a general dental practice is an asset but not required
New graduates are welcome and encouraged to apply
