Job Summary
We are seeking a passionate and detail-oriented Registered Dental Hygienist to join our dynamic dental team. In this vital role, you will deliver exceptional patient care by performing professional dental cleaning procedures, educating patients on oral health, and supporting the overall clinical operations. Responsibilities
Perform dental prophylaxis, including cleaning teeth, removing plaque and calculus, and applying fluoride treatments to promote optimal oral health.
Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including vital signs and medical history reviews, to ensure safe and effective treatment planning.
Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) using dental imaging equipment while maintaining strict adherence to infection prevention protocols.
Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions to foster long-term dental health.
Assist the dentist during procedures with chairside assisting, ensuring all dental equipment is prepared and sterilized according to infection control standards.
Maintain accurate electronic health records (EHR/EHR systems like Dentrix), documenting patient interactions, treatment plans, and medical records in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
Support infection prevention management through aseptic techniques, sterilization procedures, and adherence to healthcare infection control guidelines.
Experience
Proven experience as a Dental Hygienist in a fast-paced dental office or clinic environment.
Familiarity with dental software systems such as Dentrix for managing patient records and documentation review.
Knowledge of pediatric dentistry principles and pediatric patient care best practices is highly desirable.
Strong understanding of dental terminology, medical terminology, and anatomy relevant to dental care procedures.
Experience performing dental x-ray procedures (dental imaging) with proficiency in X-ray safety standards.
Ability to communicate effectively with diverse patient populations, including pediatrics, providing clear client communication and education.
Demonstrated commitment to HIPAA compliance management and maintaining patient confidentiality at all times.
